Kent Gearin’s areas of practice include criminal law, divorce, child support, custody and family law, estate planning, probate, real estate law, personal injury and general counsel in numerous other areas. He has been practicing in Martin, Tennessee since October of 1992. He is a founding partner of Gearin•Whitledge, PLLC.
Kent earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Nashville School of Law in 1989. While in Nashville he was an associate in the Norman Law Firm under his mentor, Jack Norman, Jr., Esq. and his brother Judge Seth Norman. He was also a Judicial Clerk for Judge Muriel Robinson in the 6th Circuit Court for Davidson County and clerked for the law firm of Manier, Herod, Hallibaugh and Smith.
Kent is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Weakley and Obion County Bar Associations. He is admitted to the Federal and Tennessee Bars. He is a Rotarian. He has two sons, Max Gearin and Miles Gearin. He and his wife, Mary Ann, have been married for 35 years and they make their home in Martin, Tennessee.
